Aquatic Safety Specialist

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly skilled Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain active surveillance of the pool area to ensure the safety of all individuals.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Perform equipment checks and ensure that all necessary equipment is available and in good working condition.
  • Assist with chemical testing and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain certifications and stay up-to-date on best practices.
Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Certifications in Basic Life Support, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration.
  • Current YMCA Lifeguard certification or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
