Position Overview: Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will undertake a variety of financial responsibilities, ensuring precision and adherence to company policies and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Management:

  • Prepare and execute journal entries, encompassing payroll, recurring entries, and month-end accruals.
  • Process payment journals and reconcile all banking transactions.
  • Review and post Accounts Payable vouchers, journal entries, and payment journals.
  • Compile and manage payments and returns for Federal Excise Tax, maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Oversee and reconcile multiple general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.

Financial Reporting:

  • Support the preparation of financial analyses as required.
  • Provide assistance during internal and external audits.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay informed about accounting regulations and compliance obligations.
  • Help ensure adherence to tax regulations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of internal controls.

Collaboration:

  • Engage with various departments to collect and share financial data.
  • Work alongside the finance team to enhance processes and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in accounting or related fields.
  3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  4. Familiarity with Business Central is advantageous.
  5. Proficiency in Excel is beneficial.
  6. Analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
  7. Ability to make informed decisions.
  8. Organizational skills are a must.
  9. Ability to manage internal and external relationships effectively.
  10. Confidentiality is critical.
  11. Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships.
  13. Strong communication skills (oral, written, and listening).
  14. Team-oriented mindset.
  15. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  16. Ability to handle mental demands associated with essential duties.
