Job Overview

Glaston America, Inc. is currently in search of a Technical Field Support Specialist to facilitate the installation and provide technical assistance for high-precision glass processing machinery throughout North America. A passion for travel and excellent interpersonal abilities with a customer-centric approach are essential. Travel requirements may reach up to 80%.

Location Information

The corporate headquarters is situated in Cherry Hill, New Jersey; however, we welcome applications from candidates across the United States.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide field service support for Glaston machinery
  • Oversee the installation, start-up, and commissioning of new equipment
  • Educate customers on-site regarding machine operation, safety protocols, and maintenance procedures
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and respond to emergency repair needs
  • Deliver technical support to clients

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a Technical Trade School or an Associate's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, along with a minimum of 1 year of experience in an industrial setting
  • Alternatively, 4 years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering/maintenance within an industrial environment may substitute for formal education
  • Experience in an electrically focused industrial role, complemented by a robust mechanical background, is preferred; however, recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Proficient problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical tools
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Experience in field service or willingness to travel is desirable
  • Must reside within 1 hour of an international airport
  • Availability for extended travel on short notice, including weekends
  • Proficient in computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with PLC logic and CNC systems is advantageous
  • Fluency in German and/or Spanish is a plus, but not mandatory

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Hourly non-exempt position with a starting rate of $25 - $32 per hour, based on experience
  • Estimated first-year earnings between $75,000 - $100,000, including overtime
  • 401k retirement plan with company matching
