What is the role of a Sales Associate?

To be at the heart of the Five Below experience, our part-time Sales Associates immerse themselves in all store activities. Ideal candidates possess an unwavering enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service while also achieving impressive sales outcomes. Essential qualities include outstanding interpersonal and sales abilities, a sharp eye for ensuring merchandise is displayed neatly, maintaining a well-stocked sales floor, and facilitating seamless transactions at the register.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Manage cash handling processes.
  • Review and ensure compliance with all corporate communications relevant to their area.
  • Assist in merchandising efforts.
  • Maintain responsibility for assigned areas.
  • Implement and uphold Market Plan and other merchandise directives.
  • Support the execution of company data integrity processes.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through direct interactions.
  • Engage with and assist customers effectively.
  • Help with receiving and stocking processes.
  • Unload merchandise from delivery vehicles.
  • Verify incoming shipments.
  • Drive store sales, which may include participating in all Five Below services.
  • Prepare merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Organize merchandise.
  • Perform store maintenance tasks, including cleaning and organizing.
  • This job description is not exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the General Manager based on store needs.
  • Stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Frequently operate the cash register.
  • Occasionally lift merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove items at heights of 5-10 feet.
  • Regularly climb ladders to retrieve and store stock.
  • Frequently kneel, bend, and stoop, including in stock rooms and on the sales floor.
  • Communicate and exchange information with customers and colleagues in person and over the phone.
  • Move throughout the sales floor to assist customers and retrieve merchandise from the stock room.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
Pay Range: $ based on experience.
