Job Overview

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Director to lead the development and implementation of strategic plans for optimizing 3PL operations across its national portfolio.

About the Role

This senior leadership position requires a strong background in strategic planning, communication skills, and the ability to develop consensus amongst internal stakeholders.

The successful candidate will drive cost-saving efficiencies across our national portfolio, which consists of approximately 80 buildings and 25 million square feet across North America.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies to optimize utilization and efficiency across our network
  2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align strategies with company-wide goals and objectives
  3. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track effectiveness of asset management initiatives and drive continuous improvement
  4. Evaluate market trends and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation
  5. Lead strategic planning and integration efforts resulting from mergers and acquisitions
  6. Assess dynamic risk factors and develop mitigation strategies
  7. Assess portfolio-wide customer priorities and volumes to ensure alignment with asset management strategy
  8. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners
  9. Presents regular updates and reports to senior leadership on key metrics and performance
  10. Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree in logistics or supply chain management preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of industry experience in supply chain operations, asset management, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of e-commerce logistics and supply chain management principles
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify actionable insights
  • Proven track record driving outcomes in collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Proven logistics management experience, focusing on strategic planning and execution
  • Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 per annum, based on internal equity, market data, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, and certain degrees or certifications.

Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.

Travel Requirements: Up to 50% initially, with remote work options available.
