Job Title: Adjunct Instructor Air Conditioning

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor Air Conditioning to join our team at Gwinnett Technical College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching credited Air Conditioning/Electrical Technology courses, developing program and course outlines, and evaluating student progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach credited Air Conditioning/Electrical Technology courses as assigned, promoting student retention and program completion.
  • Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives, ensuring consistency in syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and other materials.
  • Evaluate student progress, establishing criteria and tests to measure student achievement, and communicating progress to students and personnel.
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment, preparing budget requests and performing classroom inventory.
  • Maintain program certification requirements, attending required training and participating in education meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports, ensuring documentation meets organizational and accreditation policies and state guidelines.
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area, constructing training modules, tools, materials, and equipment to comply with local, state, and federal workplace safety standards.
  • Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss instructional programs, curricula, and issues impacting student progress.
  • Display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work, operating effectively within the organizational structure, and demonstrating trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
  • Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts, actively recruiting students, preparing orientation for new students, and participating in retention efforts.

Requirements: The successful candidate must hold a degree in a related field and have relevant work experience. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.

Work Environment: This position requires working in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, with occasional movement about to accomplish tasks. The ability to adjust or move objects up to 15 pounds in all directions is required.
