About the Role

Northern Impact is seeking an experienced Architect to join our team as we embark on an exciting international airport project. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for spearheading technical design elements and providing innovative design solutions aligned with our client's vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Design and Development: Engage in all aspects and phases of the project, applying good design sensibilities and technical expertise.
  • Design Concept Execution: Work with project designers to understand and execute project design concepts and goals.
  • Sustainable Design: Apply sustainable design principles to ensure environmentally responsible and efficient project outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Work under the direction of more senior architects and staff while guiding less experienced staff, mentoring junior architects, and contributing to the development of construction documents and code studies.
  • Design Presentations and Studies: Participate in and/or lead the development of design presentations and studies with project designers.
  • Coordination Meetings: Participate in and/or lead coordination meetings with consultants and clients under the direction of more senior staff.
  • Professional Growth: Eager to learn and continue professional growth, embracing the firm's design philosophy and applying the firm's policy regarding client/project confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Architecture License: Required.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in architectural design and construction administration.
  • Professional Degree: Professional Architecture Degree.
  • LEED and WELL AP Credentials: LEED AP BD+C and/or WELL AP credentials preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in design and office software, including Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Rhino, SketchUp, and MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Collaboration Software: Experience in collaboration software such as Bluebeam is preferred.
  • Public Project Experience: Experience working on large public projects is preferred.
  • Design and Technical Expertise: Balanced experience in design sensibilities and technical expertise.
  • Construction Standards: Knowledge of construction standards, detailing, building codes, accessibility codes, and coordination with specifications.
  • Documentation Preparation: Experience in preparing and coordinating documentation sets.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong analytical, communication, leadership, presentation, and time management skills.
