Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled EEG Technologist I to join our team at Maine Medical Center. As a key member of our neurodiagnostic team, you will be responsible for operating electroneurodiagnostic equipment to measure neural potentials for use by physicians in diagnosing neurological outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of a senior Neurodiagnostic Technologist, you will operate electroneurodiagnostic equipment to measure neural potentials for use by physicians in diagnosing neurological outcomes.
  • You will be responsible for collecting EEG data for routine EEGs, Interventional Radiology, Evoked Potentials, Continuous EEG, and long-term epilepsy monitoring in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Requirements
  • Education: A high school education or equivalent is preferred.
  • License/Certification: You must be a graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology Program or be eligible for exam under one of the following pathways:
    • CAAHEP Accredited NDT Program: You must be a graduate of the program or a student enrolled for at least six months, with current CPR/BCLS certification, and have passed Part 1 of the exam.
    • Non-CAAHEP Formal NDT Program: You must have a certificate of completion from an ABRET-recognized program, documentation of 100 EEGs following completion of the program, and current CPR/BCLS certification.
    • Associate's Degree or RPSGT: You must have a minimum of an Associate's degree or RPSGT certificate, one year of clinical EEG experience, documentation of 150 EEGs post one year of experience, 30 EEG ASET credits, and current CPR/BCLS certification.
    • Certified in Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association (may be obtained within six months of hire date).
  • Experience: Individuals with a related Associate's degree and/or other allied health or nursing experience may be considered at the Manager or Medical Director's discretion in lieu of education and license/certification requirements.
  • You must have basic computer literacy and be able to collaborate with IT and clinical engineering to resolve IT issues.
  • You must have interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with seriously ill or agitated patients.
  • You must have skill in using EEG equipment in line with safety, infection control, and quality protocols.
