Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Support Engineer to provide on-going support to our automotive customers in Springfield, TN. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing production support, optimizations, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair activities as needed for on-site and/or phone support of all their robotic needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level plant support knowledge, including software, PLCs, KUKA options, and support process improvements/optimizations.
  • Enhance production-related plant processes via KUKA products and become experienced in customer-specific applications and tech packages.
  • Lead by example and aid in bringing new KUKA Robotics service team members up to speed about plant support and related requirements.
  • Support customers and internal personnel with the troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, and programming problems related to KUKA Robotics equipment.
  • Complete all paperwork, including timesheets, expense reports, project proposals, etc., in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain and improve skills and product/application knowledge in conjunction with the Service Manager and/or related supervisor(s).
  • Identify training needs and keep abreast of competition benchmarks and technology changes.
  • Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring of Customer Service team members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.E.E./B.S.C/B.S.M.E.) from an accredited four-year college or university plus five years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Ability to lead small groups, read and interpret mechanical, electrical, electronic, etc. prints, and other related technical documentation.
  • Strong software background, capable of diagnosing software issues, and knowledge of the fundamentals of customer service for phone and face-to-face contact with customers.
Work Environment

This position is located at the customer site in a typical manufacturing environment. The incumbent is expected to be cognizant of and follow all customer-specific safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment and hearing protection.
