Work Arrangement: remote

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver precise translations, transcriptions, and summaries of foreign language text, audio, and video content into English
  • Exhibit fluency in English both orally and in writing
  • Translate in alignment with specified style and quality standards
  • Employ a translation methodology to convert a diverse range of complex texts that may include challenging, abstract, idiomatic, highly technical, and colloquial writing
  • Post-edit Machine Translations to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Interpret abstract language and nuances while capturing socio-economic elements in text
  • Utilize domain-specific technical terminology
  • Develop and maintain reference materials such as glossaries, style guides, and translation memories
  • Assess the quality of translations performed by other linguists
Essential Qualifications:

  • Must pass a translation performance assessment at ILR 5
  • Advanced proficiency in reading, listening to, and comprehending foreign languages at an ILR 5 level in the source language
  • Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Internet navigation
  • Familiarity with Human Language Technology (HLT) skills, including Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) and adaptive machine translation tools
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of regionalisms, slang, colloquialisms, and dialects in the source language
Educational Background:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
This position reports to the Task Manager.
