This entry-level position offers competitive pay and on-the-job training, providing a unique opportunity to develop skills in drilling operations and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the driller in setting up and operating drilling rigs and related equipment to drill holes for geotechnical exploration test borings.
- Obtain samples from well holes as directed by the project manager, ensuring accurate and efficient sampling procedures.
- Dig and clean mud pits, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Label sample containers as directed, adhering to strict quality control protocols.
- Assist the driller in the maintenance and repair of drilling equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Must be able to drive and shift gears for extended periods to and from job sites, with a valid Class A CDL and excellent driving record.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while drilling, with manual hand dexterity and ability to lift drill steel, materials, and samples weighing 25-80 lbs.
- Work in extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold, with a strong commitment to safety and well-being.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience in drilling operations or a related field preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and priorities, with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
