Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Imaging Equipment Specialist III will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of imaging technology through maintenance, repair, and compliance with established standards. This role is critical in supporting the operational efficiency of diagnostic imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance and calibrations on imaging equipment, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Execute major repairs by replacing faulty components and readjusting equipment to meet manufacturer specifications.
  • Assist in cross-training Biomedical Equipment Technicians in diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Collaborate with equipment manufacturers and operators to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Provide emergency on-call support as required.
  • Research and procure necessary repair parts while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Compile and maintain Quality Assurance documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Document all significant actions related to asset management in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Perform all duties associated with the role of a Biomedical Equipment Technician III.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Electronics, Imaging Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or equivalent military training.
  • A minimum of seven to ten years of experience with various imaging equipment manufacturers or related fields.
  • At least seven years of experience in radiology equipment repair and prior biomedical experience.
  • Specialized knowledge in modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, and linear accelerators.
  • Certification in relevant modalities (CRES) is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties as necessary.
  • Ability to serve as a technical resource in areas of specialty or certification.
