Job Summary:

The Ski and Snowboard School Supervisor is a key member of the Vail Resorts team, responsible for overseeing the front-line aspects of the Park City Ski and Snowboard School. This role works closely with the Location Manager to deliver exceptional guest experiences and ensure the highest standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of ski and snowboard instructors, including assigning daily tasks and making lesson assignments.
  • Reporting instructor lesson work for payroll and approving submitted timecards.
  • Mentoring, observing, coaching, and delivering feedback to instructors.
  • Regularly assessing instructor performance and documenting accordingly.
  • Collaborating with the management team to develop a culture of health and safety.
  • Providing superior guest service at all times, both internally and externally.
  • Holding staff to consistent standards set for accountability with company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Building a working knowledge of RPOS, Pro Connect, and specific ski school tools and report modules.
  • Monitoring and adjusting staffing levels as directed by the Product and Location Manager(s).
  • Administering record-keeping and reporting systems.
  • Leading special activities and maintaining facilities, as well as assisting in training as assigned or needed.

Requirements:

  • Excellent personal skills, particularly in guest service scenarios.
  • Strong skiing or snowboarding skills, with the ability to ski/ride most terrain to travel to on-hill situations.
  • Desire to work with and relate to adults, children, parents, and employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and supervise others.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a high-paced, variable, multi-faceted environment with the ability to multi-task and participate in mentoring and feedback.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Windows-based applications, and internet-based software.
  • Experience with RPOS, RTP, or Pro/Guest Connect is preferred.
  • College degree and/or two years of relevant proven leadership experience in a related field, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • PSIA/AASI Level I Certification (or foreign equivalent) is required.
  • PSIA/AASI Level II or III Certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to withstand lengthy exposure to cold and inclement weather.
  • Able to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Physical strength and ability to respond appropriately to emergency and other unplanned situations.
