Job Title: Mail Processing Specialist II at DTSV, Inc.

This is a temporary role with a duration of approximately six months.

The Mail Processing Specialist II primarily supports the containment area by following all established safety protocols and regulations. This position involves receiving and managing mail using automated systems and equipment such as conveyors and scanners. The Mail Processing Specialist II is responsible for accurately screening mail with the provided testing tools and training, differentiating between outgoing and domestic mail, and handling moderate to heavy mail packages. Additionally, this role requires standing for extended periods.

The Mail Processing Specialist II will perform various assigned tasks within the operational area, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Manually processing mail from carrier vehicles in the containment area using conveyors.
  • Scanning incoming items into the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS) with scanners.
  • Sorting and pre-sorting small parcels within the containment area.
  • Preparing containment rooms for daily operations.
  • Correctly identifying different classes of mail.
  • Screening letters in the designated Tritek area.
  • Labeling and tagging processed small parcels and letter mail.
  • Utilizing provided trays for screening flats and small parcels.
  • Loading and unloading processed mail to and from holding areas.
  • Operating dock levelers and conveyors.
  • Maintaining awareness of contract performance standards.
  • Carrying out all duties in compliance with safe warehouse practices.
Additional Responsibilities:

The Mail Processing Specialist II must remain in the containment area until authorized personnel grant clearance and is required to utilize the designated trailer for breaks and lunch, remaining on-site during these periods.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage along with additional compensation for health and welfare benefits.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a high-volume mail processing or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to successfully complete an online warehouse skills assessment and corporate background check.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government suitability determination.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in computer usage, including the MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong commitment to quality and customer service.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
  • Adaptability to changing requirements.
  • Attention to detail and a strong attendance record.
Physical Demands:

This role may require standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting items up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities are also necessary.

Work Environment:

This position is located at a Federal Government warehouse/mail processing facility with strict safety and security protocols.
