Job Title: Mail Processing Specialist II at DTSV, Inc.

This is a temporary role with a duration of approximately six months.

The Mail Processing Specialist II is primarily responsible for assisting in the containment area by following all established safety protocols and procedures. This position involves receiving and managing mail utilizing conveyors and automated systems such as scanners. The Mail Processing Specialist II is responsible for accurately screening mail with the provided testing equipment and training, differentiating between outgoing and domestic mail, and handling moderate to heavy mail packages. Furthermore, this role requires standing for extended periods.

The Mail Processing Specialist II performs a variety of assigned tasks within the operational area, which may include but are not limited to:

  • Manually processing mail from carrier vehicles in the containment area using conveyors.
  • Scanning incoming items into the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS) using scanners.
  • Sorting and pre-sorting small parcels within the containment area.
  • Preparing containment rooms for daily operations.
  • Correctly identifying various classes of mail.
  • Screening letters in the designated screening area.
  • Labeling and tagging processed small parcels and letter mail.
  • Utilizing provided trays to screen flats and small parcels.
  • Loading and unloading processed mail to and from holding areas.
  • Operating dock levelers and conveyors.
  • Maintaining awareness of contract performance standards.
  • Executing all tasks in compliance with safe warehouse practices.
Additional Responsibilities:

The Mail Processing Specialist II must remain in the containment area until authorized personnel grant clearance and is required to utilize the designated break area, not leaving the worksite during breaks.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage along with additional compensation for health and welfare benefits.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a high-volume mail production or warehouse setting.
  • Ability to successfully complete an online warehouse skills assessment and corporate background check.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a Federal Government suitability determination.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in computer usage, including the MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly in English, both in writing and verbally.
  • Strong commitment to quality and customer service.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Attention to detail and a strong attendance record.
Physical Demands:

This role may involve standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting up to 70 pounds. Specific vision capabilities are also required.

Work Environment:

This position is located onsite at a Federal Government warehouse/mail processing facility, adhering to strict safety and security protocols.
