Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty Educator to join our team at Dallas College. As an Adjunct Faculty Educator, you will be responsible for teaching students effectively in assigned classes and maintaining office hours for student consultation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Develop and deliver high-quality course materials and lesson plans.
    • Provide students with a written course syllabus and participate in the evaluation of the instructional process.
    • Utilize technology to facilitate learning and to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.
  • Student Support
    • Participate in student advising and registration.
    • Maintain accurate and complete course records.
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with industry developments.
    • Complete required Dallas College Professional Development training hours per academic year.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Participate in campus commencement exercises as required and attend other required college meetings and activities.
    • Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Education
    • A Master's degree or higher and at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline for credit courses.
    • A combination of academic preparation and work experience, including three years of direct or related work experience other than teaching, for workforce education degree or certificate courses.
    • A Bachelor's degree or higher in the specific teaching discipline and demonstrated competency for developmental courses.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with students.
    • Demonstrated skills in successfully working with students through experiences such as formal training and past work experiences.
    • The ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Physical Requirements
    • May be required to lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
