Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Pharmacy Officer to lead our Pharmacy Services department at Montefiore Medical Center. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve patient care, safety, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement pharmacy service line expansion opportunities
  • Manage the initiation and development of new business enterprises
  • Oversee the development and operation of all pharmacy services
  • Ensure that pharmacy services are provided to patients with a consistently high level of safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and customer service
  • Support the design and implementation of quality and medication safety initiatives
  • Provide strategic management of Pharmacy Operations by establishing and supporting programs in accordance with strategic goals
  • Lead strategic discussions to ensure operational efficiency, optimization of expense management, and growth of Montefiore Pharmacy services
  • Assess external clinical pharmacy industry trends and developments that represent risk and opportunities for the organization
  • Develop short- and long-term plans to respond to potential risks and to capitalize on opportunities
Requirements
  • NYS Pharmacist license
  • Doctor of Pharmacy required; Master's in business administration preferred
  • 10 years of experience required; 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred
  • Must have a demonstrable experience in health care improvement and operations
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive pharmacy management experience with documented success in an integrated health-care system, managed care, insurance, PBM, and/or other relevant environment
  • Experience in a role requiring advanced financial acumen, including devising appropriate operational responses for budget variances, annual capital and operational budgeting, pro-forma development, financial monitoring, and business development
  • Experience in a role requiring skills related to balancing clinical, regulatory, and financial goals and outcomes, and collaborating with individuals at all levels within the organization
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization, with the ability to build cross-functional relationships to ensure the likelihood of success with strategic initiatives
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to developing others and serving as a mentor and role model
