Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Network Engineer to join our team at Raytheon. As a key member of our network engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise network systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement network systems, including switch, firewall, and router configurations
  • Utilize knowledge and experience with network technologies, services, operations, and associated security practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network systems
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including design documents, implementation plans, and troubleshooting guides
  • Provide guidance on network resource allocation, utilization, and optimization
  • Lead small technical teams of network engineers as required to support design and deployment activities
Requirements
  • Current DOD – Secret security clearance is required day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 8+ years of related work experience
  • Experience designing, configuring, deploying, and supporting network systems (E.g. Cisco, Cisco Nexus, Cisco ASA, Brocade)
  • Experience with Linux System Administration (E.g. RHEL 6.0+)
  • Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (E.g.: Scrum, SAFe)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Networking Certification (CCNA, CCNP)
  • Current Comp TIA Security + certification
  • Familiarity with Cloud Application Platforms such as AWS
  • Experience with VM provisioning (E.g. VMWare / Vsphere)
  • Experience with scripting languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash)
  • Experience with scanning tools (E.g. Nessus, Fortify)
  • Experience integrating with identity management, access management, and authorization solutions (PKI, LDAP, OAUTH, OpenID)
  • Experience with code repository systems (E.g. ClearCase, Bit Bucket)
  • Experience using automation frameworks
  • Experience with containers
  • Experience conducting trade studies and analysis of competing technologies
  • Experience with coordination across a diverse set of contractors and customer personnel for multiple site locations
