Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Orlando, FL.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing moderate and high complexity testing, analyzing, reviewing, and reporting test results and quality control results. They will also ensure specimen integrity by following proper procedures for specimen handling and processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing moderate to high complexity tests according to established protocols
  • Assisting in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Preparing and storing specimens, reagents, and culture media
  • Assisting in the performance of quality control procedures
  • Maintaining/monitoring TAT for all department assays
  • Adhering to documentation and record-keeping standards
  • Following the laboratory's Quality Management System
  • Collaborating with other team members and leadership
  • Laboratory maintenance activities, including assisting with inventory, biohazardous waste disposal, sterilization of glassware, and maintaining a neat and organized work area
Requirements:
  • Certified in the area of medical laboratory science by American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or equivalent
  • Active license as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician
  • At least 2 years of experience in a CAP/CLIA laboratory
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Science is a plus but Associate Degree Accepted
  • Knowledge of Microbiology techniques is preferred
