We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team at AdventHealth Central Florida. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for patient care and treatment.

About the Role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist II will be responsible for performing various laboratory procedures, including analytical testing of blood and human biological specimens. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with other laboratory professionals to ensure the smooth operation of our laboratory.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analytical testing of blood and human biological specimens
  • Conduct quality control and calibration activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
  • Participate in proficiency testing and adhere to federal and state regulations
  • Provide technical and support information related to laboratory testing for all age groups
  • Provide orientation and training to new employees and medical technology students
  • Act as a preceptor when teaching new staff and students
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related science
  • State Medical Technologist Licensure
  • Two years of technical experience in a laboratory setting
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to varying priorities
  • Ability to maintain equipment/records and perform quality assessment activities
