Key Responsibilities- Timely and on-budget delivery of design packages relevant to the discipline
- Responsible for the quality of the package relevant to the discipline
- Works on multiple projects at the same time
- Efficiently manages a group of engineers to achieve the above goals
- Responsible for guiding and mentoring junior staff
- Provides expert input to projects
- Identifying gaps in expertise in their groups
- Reports to management and actively supports efforts to ensure all areas of expertise necessary for successful project delivery have been covered
- Coordinates interfaces with other engineering disciplines
- Supports the Project Engineer to achieve overall project goals
- Represents the project and corresponding discipline in front of the client, in coordination with the Project Engineer
- Provides support to proposals
- Supports hiring process
- Supports the development of the quality management system
- Timely and on-budget delivery of projects
- Represents the project in front of the client, when necessary, supported by engineering leads and/or management
- Reporting and project management activities required by the Company or the client
- Supports management to achieve organization goals
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering or closely related degree from a recognized institution
- Minimum of 7+ years' post-education experience, preferably in Transmission and Distribution systems in utility or industrial/commercial environments
- P.E. Registration or eligible for P.E. licensing
- Knowledge of codes and standards such as IEEE and ANSI
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
- Master's Degree in Engineering
