Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Substation Protection and Control Engineer to join our team at Leidos Holding. As a key member of our Substation Engineering organization, you will play a vital role in designing and implementing high-voltage utility substation projects.

About the Role

  • Act as a key contributor to the development of substation protection and control design projects.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • Take complete ownership of each project, including management of financials, resources, and design.
  • Liaison, lead, coordinate, and collaborate with external clients.
  • Continually improve and maximize quality.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with our clients.
  • Contribute to the definition of design scope, philosophies, and design methodologies.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Eight (8+) plus years of direct experience in substation protection and control design.
  • Ability to lead substation design projects by aligning engineering execution with program management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E) license.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience leading a project team.
  • Some experience in substation physical design.
  • Field testing/commissioning experience.
