Job Title: Substation Physical Engineer

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Substation Physical Engineer to join our team. As a Substation Physical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing substation electrical projects, working on projects for electric utilities at voltages from 12kV up to 500kV.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design substation electrical projects, including digital logic design, AC and DC circuits
  • Use knowledge of protection and control design, bus calculation, and grounding studies/lightning protection
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to meet project needs
  • Perform quality control checks on substation physical design projects
  • Read and design substation physical drawings, including one-line drawings, three-line drawings, plan-section drawings, foundation, and grounding drawings
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of related substation physical design experience (mid-level), 4+ years (senior-level), or 8+ years (lead-level)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams and clients
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure situations
  • Collaborator and leader who can work effectively in a team environment
