Research Assistant Professor

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of New Mexico is seeking a highly qualified Research Assistant Professor to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will work under the guidance of Professor Sally Seidel on experimental particle physics projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in experimental particle physics, contributing to the development of new experiments and techniques.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design, implement, and analyze experiments, as well as publish research findings in top-tier scientific journals.
- Teach and mentor students, including undergraduate and graduate students, in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
- Develop and maintain a strong research program, securing funding and resources to support research activities.
- PhD in Physics or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in experimental particle physics, with a strong publication record and a clear research vision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
