Job Summary

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of New Mexico is seeking a highly qualified Research Assistant Professor to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will work under the guidance of Professor Sally Seidel on experimental particle physics projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in experimental particle physics, contributing to the development of new experiments and techniques.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design, implement, and analyze experiments, and to publish research findings in top-tier scientific journals.
  • Teach and mentor students, including graduate and undergraduate students, in the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
  • Develop and maintain a strong research program, securing funding and resources to support research activities.
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in experimental particle physics, with a strong publication record and a clear research vision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.
