The primary objective of this role is to cultivate and oversee both existing and prospective clients by marketing food and non-food products to meet sales and profitability targets. Key responsibilities include:


• Acting as the main point of contact for customer relationships.


• Engaging clients through value-added sales initiatives.


• Utilizing additional resources to maximize penetration in key accounts and facilitate the opening of new accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


• Nurturing customer relationships within a collaborative sales framework.


• Coordinating deliveries according to the routing schedule set by the logistics department; resolving any issues that arise during the order fulfillment process (e.g., delivery discrepancies, shortages, stock-outs).


• Communicating and collecting accounts receivable as needed, collaborating with the credit department and clients; ensuring all balances are collected based on established credit terms.


• Leveraging additional resources to support key account penetration and the acquisition of new clients.


• Generating new business; identifying potential clients by utilizing market intelligence tools, business directories, leads from current clients, and participating in industry organizations and events.


• Staying informed about market trends, product innovations, and competitor offerings; sharing relevant information with clients as part of the value-added services provided.


• Traveling to existing clients and prospects to ensure product delivery, which may involve lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75lbs.

• No direct reports.

RELATIONSHIPS


• Internal: District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.


• External: Clients, vendors, prospective clients.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


• Frequently operates outside the office environment, visiting clients in varying weather and temperature conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


• 1+ year of sales experience preferred.


• Experience in the foodservice industry, culinary arts, restaurant management, or hospitality preferred.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills along with effective presentation abilities.


• Capability to build relationships internally and externally and to cold call for new business development.


• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.


• A competitive spirit and results-oriented mindset.


• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.


• A collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.


• Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products; experience with Customer Relationship Management tools preferred (e.g., Salesforce).
