At Inova, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nutrition Expert to join our team as a Dietitian Registered Team Lead. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a critical role in providing safe and therapeutic nutritional care to our patients. Your exceptional leadership skills and expertise will enable you to act as a resource to physicians, nurses, and other allied healthcare professionals, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care.
Role Overview
The Dietitian Registered Team Lead is responsible for providing comprehensive and systematic nutritional care to patients. This includes performing thorough nutrition assessments, formulating individualized nutrition plans of care, and coordinating with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments to identify patients' nutritional needs and develop personalized plans of care.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate nutrition plans into comprehensive care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide education and guidance to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on nutrition-related topics.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest nutrition research, guidelines, and best practices to inform care delivery.
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate records, as per documentation standards.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A Master's Degree in Nutrition or a related field (for dietitians registered after 1/1/2024).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care setting, with recent hospital experience, or 5 years of clinical nutrition practice experience with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Registration as a Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with a current certification.
