About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at the University of Washington's Eye Institute. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our acute eye care program, working closely with our ophthalmology and optometry teams to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with complex clinical diagnostic eye examinations and procedures
- Complete intake of phone calls and electronic messages related to patients' acute eye care concerns
- Work with the acute eye care medical team to develop and maintain a high-quality acute eye care program
- Perform ophthalmic imaging tests as ordered by physicians
- Provide patient education and demonstrate age-specific patient interaction
Requirements
- Completion of an approved ophthalmic technician program and one year of experience
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or equivalent education/experience
