Job Title: Bilingual Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Social Worker to join our team at Family Services, Inc. in Poughkeepsie, NY.

About the Role:

The Bilingual Social Worker will provide high-quality, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed services to families and children in the Dutchess County Family Education Program (DC FEP). This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Mandated Preventive Services to families referred by the Dutchess County Department of Child and Family Services to reduce risk of future incidences of child abuse and neglect and maintain child safety.
  • Maintain a caseload of 12 to 13 families and provide in-home services ranging from once per month to twice per week.
  • Support families on their caseload in implementing their Court Orders and remaining in compliance with expectations of the Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services.
  • Develop and assess Family Assessment Service Plan goals in collaboration with community partners.
  • Implement evidenced-based parent skills training, including Family Check-Up and SafeCare, and Motivational Interviewing techniques.
  • Provide 24/7 support to families working with the Family Education Program as part of on-call rotation.
  • Assess child safety and risk and effectively communicate with supervisor in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or other human services field with two (2) years relevant experience in providing social services.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with families who speak Spanish and provide translation of documents as needed.
  • Home-based programming experience preferred.
  • CASAC credential and/or advanced coursework in social work or equivalent is a plus.
  • Good communication and counseling skills.
  • Knowledge of community and public agencies.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
