Bilingual Social Worker Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Social Worker to join our team at Family Services Inc. in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Job Summary:The Bilingual Social Worker will provide high-quality, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed services to families and children in the Dutchess County Family Education Program (DC FEP). The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Case Manager to provide families with in-home parenting skills, counseling, assessments, and on-call support to achieve goals of safety and reduce risk of out-of-home placement.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Mandated Preventive Services to families referred by the Dutchess County Department of Child and Family Services to reduce risk of future incidences of child abuse and neglect and maintain child safety.
- Maintain a caseload of 12 to 13 families and provide in-home services ranging from once per month to twice per week.
- Support families on their caseload in implementing their Court Orders and remaining in compliance with expectations of the Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services.
- Develop and assess Family Assessment Service Plan goals in collaboration with community partners.
- Implement evidenced-based parent skills training efficiently and effectively.
- Provide 24/7 support to families working with the Family Education Program as part of on-call rotation.
- Assess child safety and risk and effectively communicate with supervisor in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other departments and community partners to provide a comprehensive array of services to families and children.
- Bachelor's degree in social work or other human services field with two (2) years relevant experience in providing social services.
- 2 years of experience in Case Management and/or Family Services or Social Services is required. Internship experience will not be substituted for work experience.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with families who speak Spanish and provide translation of documents as needed.
- Home-based programming experience preferred.
- CASAC credential and/or advanced coursework in social work or equivalent is a plus.
- Good communication and counseling skills.
- Knowledge of community and public agencies.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

The Bilingual Social Worker will primarily work from the office setting, located at 29 North Hamilton Street in Poughkeepsie, in the community, and travel to offsite home visits and meetings.
