Bilingual Social Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Social Worker to join our team at Family Services, Inc. in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Job Summary:The Bilingual Social Worker will provide high-quality, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed services to families and children in the Dutchess County Family Education Program (DC FEP). This role requires strong communication and counseling skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with families who speak Spanish.
Key Responsibilities:- Provides Mandated Preventive Services to families referred by the Dutchess County Department of Child and Family Services to reduce risk of future incidences of child abuse and neglect and maintain child safety.
- Maintains a caseload of 12 to 13 families and provides in-home services ranging from once per month to twice per week.
- Supports families on their caseload in implementing their Court Orders and remaining in compliance with expectations of the Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services.
- Develops and assesses Family Assessment Service Plan goals in collaboration with community partners.
- Obtains and maintains Family Check-Up and SafeCare training and certification to implement evidenced-based parent skills training efficiently and effectively.
- Implements Motivational Interviewing techniques and support groups related to parenting, trauma, or other identified needs as needed.
- Provides 24/7 support to families working with the Family Education Program as part of on-call rotation.
- Assesses child safety and risk and effectively communicates with supervisor in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with other departments and community partners to provide a comprehensive array of services to families and children.
- Bachelor's degree in social work or other human services field with two (2) years relevant experience in providing social services.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with families who speak Spanish and provide translation of documents as needed.
- Home-based programming experience preferred.
- CASAC credential and/or advanced coursework in social work or equivalent is a plus.
- Good communication and counseling skills.
- Knowledge of community and public agencies.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
