Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Social Worker/Mental Health Counselor to join our team at MidHudson Regional Hospital. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and clinically appropriate social work assessments, evaluations, and interventions, including individual and group therapy, crisis interventions, and family engagement.
  • Develop and implement person-centered treatment plans, working with patients and their families to identify and address their unique needs and goals.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting recovery and empowerment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated care, communicating effectively and escalating issues as needed.
  • Document all services and interventions in a timely and thorough manner, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training, staying current with best practices and evidence-based interventions in mental health and social work.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited graduate program.
  • New York State Social Work or Mental Health Counseling license required.
  • At least two years of post-graduate experience in a medical, mental health, or human services setting, preferably in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively in a fast-paced environment.
