Mailroom Associate Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and dedicated Mailroom Associate to join our team at JLL in Columbia, MD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and parcels, ensuring timely distribution to the right recipients.
  • Resolve issues with incorrect or returned mail, providing excellent customer service and communication.
  • Pick up outgoing mail from designated mail stops and apply correct postage, ensuring efficient mail processing.
  • Process outgoing shipments through various carriers, including FedEx, UPS, and USPS, ensuring accurate weighing and postage.
  • Manage office supplies, including mailroom equipment, copy paper, and toner, to maintain a well-stocked and efficient work environment.
  • Provide lunch break relief to the on-site Receptionist and offer backup support as needed.
  • Track daily workflow and submit weekly volume reports to the Lead, ensuring accurate record-keeping and process improvement.
  • Adhere to internal procedures and the Mail Services National Playbook, collaborating with the Lead to update site-specific tasks and procedures.
  • Travel to other sites as needed to provide support and assistance.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation necessary.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to provide white-glove services.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and strong time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to spend much of the day on their feet, with good hand-eye coordination and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Corrigo and reprographic equipment operations a plus.
