About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Dog Groomer to join our team at Southern Pines Pet Lodge. As a key member of our staff, you will provide top-notch grooming services to a variety of dog breeds while maintaining a safe and calming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grooming services, including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, and styling as requested by clients
- Assess each dog's coat, skin condition, and behavior to recommend the best grooming approach and tools
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand and meet their grooming preferences
- Ensure a safe and stress-free grooming experience for pets by handling them with care and patience
- Clean and maintain grooming tools, equipment, and workspace to uphold our hygiene and safety standards
- Monitor the health of pets during grooming sessions, reporting any concerns to the pet owner and management
- Keep detailed records of grooming services and client preferences
- Maintain excellent customer service and client relationships through friendly communication and a professional attitude
Salary Estimate:$45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on industry standards and location
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of professional dog grooming experience
- Certification from a recognized grooming school or relevant grooming experience
- Familiarity with grooming techniques and tools for different dog breeds
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and ability to handle dogs in a calm and gentle manner
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build strong client relationships
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and reliability
