Pet Grooming Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our team at Southern Pines Pet Lodge. As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional pet care and creating a positive experience for our clients. Estimated Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience and location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing grooming services, including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts, nail trims, ear cleaning, and styling as requested by clients.
  • Assessing each dog's coat, skin condition, and behavior to recommend the best grooming approach and tools.
  • Communicating effectively with pet owners to understand and meet their grooming preferences.
  • Maintaining a safe and stress-free grooming environment for pets by handling them with care and patience.
  • Cleaning and maintaining grooming tools, equipment, and workspace to uphold our hygiene and safety standards.
  • Monitoring the health of pets during grooming sessions, reporting any concerns to the pet owner and management.
  • Keeping detailed records of grooming services and client preferences.
  • Maintaining excellent customer service and client relationships through friendly communication and a professional attitude.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of professional dog grooming experience.
  • Certification from a recognized grooming school or relevant grooming experience.
  • Familiarity with grooming techniques and tools for different dog breeds.
  • Strong understanding of animal behavior and ability to handle dogs in a calm and gentle manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and reliability.
