About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pet Care Specialist to join our team at Life of Riley DC. This role is perfect for animal lovers who are passionate about providing top-notch care to furry friends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support our mission to deliver exceptional pet care experiences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in pet enclosures and boarding areas.
  • Ensure pets have access to clean bedding, food, and water at all times.
  • Accurately record consumption and elimination patterns for each pet guest.
  • Conduct regular visual checks on pets to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Supervise group play and individual activities for dogs and other pets as needed.
  • Assist with bathing and brushing of canine guests.
  • Collect and dispose of pet waste as necessary.
  • Manage pet belongings, cleaning them as needed, and returning them to owners.
  • Launder pet bedding and towels daily.
Requirements
  • A genuine passion for animals and commitment to delivering exceptional care.
  • Previous experience in animal care or kennel management is preferred.
  • Professionalism and excellent communication skills are essential.
  • This is an entry-level role, but we encourage high school students, college students, or teenagers aged 16+ to apply.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift.
  • Regular stair climbing and ability to handle dogs on leashes.
  • Working in an environment with exposure to disinfectants, animal dander, and excretions.
