Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure adherence to regulatory agency standards and regulations, including NATA, JCAHO, and Health Professionals Bureau guidelines.
  • Training Room Coordination: Oversee training room activities during treatment periods, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Treatment Administration: Administer treatments to injured or ill athletes in consultation with the team physician, prioritizing their recovery and well-being.
  • Rehabilitation and Supervision: Develop and implement rehabilitation programs for injured athletes, supervising their training to ensure a safe return to athletic competition.
  • First Aid and Injury Prevention: Recognize and manage minor injuries or illnesses during athletic practices and competition, providing first-aid treatments as needed.
  • Protective Equipment and Supplies: Coordinate the use of proper protective equipment, injury prevention techniques, and conditioning methods with team coaches, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for athletes.
  • Record Keeping and Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records related to injury/illness occurrences and the rehabilitative course of injured athletes, as well as manage inventory and supplies for the training room.
  • Team Collaboration and Education: Participate in team pre-participation physical examination sessions, provide contest coverage for home events, and engage in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices in athletic training.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree with an emphasis in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training.
  • Licensure: Certification as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Indiana.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a sport rotation preferred, but new graduates from accredited colleges will be considered.
