Job Title: Principal Engineer Aeronautical

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer Aeronautical to join the Air Vehicle Subsystems team, specifically the Landing Gear, Brakes & Hydraulics group.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and qualification of landing gear, brakes, and hydraulic subsystems for aircraft. This includes working with manufacturing, production, testing, and sustainment teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and qualification of landing gear, brakes, and hydraulic subsystems
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, production, testing, and sustainment teams to ensure delivery of high-quality products
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, statements of work, and other documents
  • Interface with internal and external customers to understand requirements and provide technical support
  • Investigate and resolve component or assembly-level failures or anomalies
  • Support engineering change packages and pre-design/proposals
  • Liaise with Material Review Board (MRB) related activities
  • Perform computer-aided design (CAD) layouts and system design & analysis
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years' experience, or Master's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 3 years' experience
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and interface with different functions and levels of internal/external leadership
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, leadership, and initiative
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineering/Technical background/understanding
  • Aircraft production (suppliers, manufacturing, test, flight test) and logistics experience
  • Experience with aircraft landing gear, brakes, hydraulics design, development, qualification, manufacturing, analysis, simulation, and testing
What We Offer:

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $107,300 - $160,900, as well as a discretionary bonus and a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
