Job Title: Senior Principal Engineer Aeronautical

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Engineer Aeronautical to join the Air Vehicle Subsystems team, specifically the Landing Gear, Brakes & Hydraulics group.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced engineer to support the Triton Production Programs, with additional support to other Triton and RQ-4 programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for landing gear, brakes, and hydraulic subsystems and components, including requirements, analyses, and troubleshooting, simulations, development, qualification, production, and fleet sustainment support to aircraft in the field.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and qualification of landing gear, brakes, and hydraulic subsystems and components
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, procedures, and reports
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and other stakeholders
  • Support the development and implementation of new technologies and processes
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 8 years' experience, or Master's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 6 years' experience
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with aircraft landing gear, brakes, and hydraulics design, development, qualification, manufacturing, analysis, simulation, and testing
  • Knowledge of aircraft production, logistics, and supply chain management
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and simulation tools
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices
