We are seeking an Auditor/Assessor - Contract to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing manufacturing/fabrication of industrial equipment at vendor/manufacturing sites.

The Auditor/Assessor - Contract will be assigned to various industrial projects requiring auditing at machinery/equipment manufacturing sites for SGS clients. The role involves:

  • Preparing audit agendas
  • Discussing agendas with audit sites and scheduling audits
  • Emailing site contacts for expectations and requirements
  • Auditing per agreed audit checklist by facility tour, discussion/interviews, review of processes/procedures, and Quality Manual if available, including HSE
  • Verification of processes and procedures
  • Photographic coverage if allowed by the site
  • Issuing reports for each audit completed

The Auditor/Assessor - Contract will be required to sign an independent contractor agreement/sub-contractor agreement with SGS North America Inc.

Work will be assigned on an as-needed basis and will be paid for hours/days and other applicable cost items for hours/days spent on assigned work. The work duration could be a day or several days or several weeks.

Each time an audit is completed, an invoice with a timesheet is expected to pay the Auditor/Assessor - Contract for the completed job. Normal payment terms of the contract are 15 to 20 days after receipt of invoice.

Qualifications
  • Candidate will be qualified and preferably certified for IRQA or similar/competent authorities and familiar with industrial commercial and technical practices
  • Candidate having ISO 9001 Lead Auditor training with understanding of various other QMS-related standards is a plus
  • Candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience around auditing of supplier/manufacturer's facilities
  • Any additional certificate such as CWI or NDT is a plus
  • Must be able to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner
  • Candidates must be proficient in using several types of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and composition
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Depending on educational qualification, trainings/certification, and experience, the pay range will be $35 to $50 per hour. Mileage for round-trip driving will be reimbursed at cost. For extended traveling when needed, all expense items will be reimbursed at cost against receipts
  • Work schedule: Ad hoc - as required by the client
