Job Overview

STERIS is seeking a skilled Device Repair Specialist to join our team in a lab-based setting. As a key member of our production facility, you will be responsible for performing surgical instrument and device inspection, repair, and refurbishment to meet compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform basic to intermediate level repairs of surgical devices/instruments and equipment to specifications.
  2. Identify problems within the job role and use standardized testing procedures to examine and test mechanisms for defects.
  3. Reassemble surgical devices or equipment and test assembly for conformance to specifications.
  4. Meet fundamental troubleshooting requirements in the role.
  5. Identify risks and issues and escalate timely and effectively.
  6. Adhere to Standard Work Instructions (SWI) and Company ISO goals and objectives.
  7. Complete workplace organization audits per site requirements.
  8. Comply with work schedules, established team standards, and protocols to ensure a safe, productive, and respectful work environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience, or 1 year of experience at STERIS; all experience must be verifiable.
  • Relevant experience may include hands-on repair, assembly, or product testing and use of small hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts.
  • Flexibility to meet schedules with early/late hours and sometimes outside normal business hours.

Salary: $21 - $21 / hr
