Overview: The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing all maintenance activities within the organization. This role is essential in ensuring that all equipment and machinery operate at optimal performance through effective preventative maintenance strategies and timely responses to critical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and prioritize the safety of all team members.
  • Improve labor efficiency within the maintenance department and overall operations.
  • Proactively manage maintenance activities to prevent future issues.
  • Utilize data analysis to anticipate and mitigate potential problems.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce equipment breakdowns and repair needs.
  • Identify problem areas and formulate actionable plans for resolution.
  • Train new staff on maintenance processes and protocols.
  • Foster a work environment that prioritizes safety.
  • Conduct employee evaluations to ensure high-quality work standards.
  • Document and monitor daily progress and error reports.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors and manage the procurement of materials.
  • Establish and adhere to maintenance budgets.

Essential Functions:

  • Focus on enhancing equipment reliability and minimizing maintenance costs.
  • Supervise personnel involved in the installation of machinery and equipment.
  • Guide teams in the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Assist staff in diagnosing equipment malfunctions.
  • Coordinate activities related to maintaining and repairing structural components.
  • Administer a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
  • Evaluate employee performance based on work quality, attendance, safety, and other relevant metrics.
  • Recommend capital investments to optimize resources and equipment.
  • Collaborate with external contractors, providing project requirements and conducting final inspections.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in maintenance roles.
  • Strong electrical expertise, particularly with 480/220 3-phase and 110 voltage systems.
  • Solid mechanical knowledge and familiarity with PLC and PC devices.
  • At least five years in a supervisory or leadership capacity, with proven ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Two years of experience in training others on equipment and facility maintenance.
  • Effective time management skills for self and team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance Mechanics, Industrial Systems Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to provide advisory support on facility and equipment projects.
  • Competence in budget estimation for projects, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Knowledge of PLC and PC devices.
  • Ability to evaluate costs against potential benefits.
  • Capacity to work independently while supporting a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
