Position Overview:

The Facility Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of the buildings within the organization. This position also involves collaborating with the maintenance team to perform various tasks, including the setup and breakdown of furniture for events and basic maintenance responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily assignments will focus on maintaining the cleanliness of the designated building throughout the shift. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing setup and cleanup for events held on the premises.
  • Performing light maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Cleaning all restroom fixtures and replenishing supplies in bathrooms and communal areas.
  • Sweeping and mopping non-carpeted surfaces, vacuuming carpeted areas, and disposing of trash and recycling appropriately.
  • Securing and storing cleaning supplies and equipment after completing daily duties, ensuring all equipment is safe and functional.
  • Preparing spaces for events and ensuring thorough cleanup afterward.
  • Managing access to facilities by unlocking and locking doors as required.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years in custodial services is required.

Basic knowledge and experience in electrical tasks (such as replacing outlets and bulbs) and plumbing (including valve and faucet replacements) are essential.

Familiarity with operating snow removal equipment is beneficial.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.

Must be a team player and physically capable of performing assigned duties.

Availability to work second and third shifts is required.

Compensation: $15-17 per hour
