Position Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Department: Facilities Management

Reports to: Facilities Supervisor

Compensation: $16.30 per hour

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Objective of the Role: The Facilities Maintenance Technician is tasked with ensuring the upkeep of both the interior and exterior of the premises, thereby fostering a secure, tidy, and welcoming atmosphere for all employees, residents, and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a secure, tidy, and welcoming environment for all employees, residents, and guests.
  • Conduct daily cleaning of the facility and surrounding grounds, including snow and ice management.
  • Keep the building's exterior free from graffiti and other unsightly conditions.
  • Repair damaged furnishings, appliances, and equipment as necessary.
  • Patch, sand, and paint walls and ceilings as required.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs.
  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections of units.
  • Carry out seasonal cleaning and repairs of heating and cooling systems.
  • Inspect and maintain smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
  • Repair and replace door locks.
  • Install sheetrock as needed.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs.
  • Maintain records related to building maintenance and repairs.
  • Execute other related tasks as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be capable of regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend up to 8 flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to work with hazardous materials while utilizing appropriate protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with the client population.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accept guidance from the Facilities Director or designated personnel.
  • Valid driver's license is advantageous.
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish is a plus.
