Job Summary:

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a highly skilled Pathologists' Assistant to join our Diagnostic Gross Room team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing patient-focused care through the examination of surgical specimens and timely completion of surgical case reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform examination, gross dissection, and documentation of surgical specimens, under supervision of pathologist.
  • Actively participate in compliance and quality management activities on a daily basis and special projects as indicated.
  • Assist with special tissue processing (tissue in special fixatives, tissue culture media, selection for culture).

Requirements:

  • ASCP Pathologists' Assistant Certification
  • More than 1 year of diagnostic gross room experience as a Pathologists' Assistant

The Pathologists' Assistant will work in a fast-paced diagnostic gross room environment, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail required. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
