Position Summary:

ROLE SUMMARY
Delivers patient-centered care through the assessment of surgical specimens and the prompt completion of surgical case documentation independently.

Accountable for the precise execution of gross dissection to facilitate microscopic diagnosis while adhering to all established protocols.

Employs analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to ensure accurate and dependable clinical results.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts examination, gross dissection, and documentation of surgical specimens under the guidance of a pathologist.
  • Engages in compliance and quality management activities daily and participates in special projects as required.
  • Assists with specialized tissue processing, including tissues in unique fixatives and tissue culture media.
  • The responsibilities outlined are a general overview of the position, and additional tasks may be assigned.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
