Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to fill the role of Clinical Director at Pima Medical Institute. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the clinical education of our Surgical Technologist students, ensuring they receive the highest quality training and preparation for their future careers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Secure new clinical sites and establish contractual agreements to provide students with diverse and relevant learning experiences.
  • Monitor student success rates and implement strategies to reduce withdrawals, ensuring an 80% student success rate for all classes taught in the program.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of student clinical performance and progress, working closely with site instructors to ensure effective clinical education.
  • Coordinate the clinical and didactic education for the Surgical Technologist program, revising the clinical education plan as needed and recommending changes to the Program Director.
  • Develop and implement clinical objectives and evaluations, ensuring students meet the necessary learning outcomes.
  • Assist the Program Director with student admissions and prepare lesson plans to instruct students in Surgical Technologist methods and techniques.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Associate's program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Baccalaureate degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years of operating room experience in the scrub role within the last five (5) years and/or (3) years teaching in the field of surgical technology.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience as an instructor in a Surgical Technologist program preferred.
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying agencies (NCCA).
  • Must hold current license, registration, certification, or other designations as required by local, state, or federal laws to work in the field.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and other computer skills.
