About the Role

Mayo Clinic is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and procedure rooms.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the care of patients in the operating room/procedure rooms under the supervision of a RN and in collaboration with the surgeon.
  • Select, prepare, and maintain instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
  • Provide a safe and efficient environment for the surgical patient.
  • Apply and enforce principles of aseptic technique and adapt to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited and/or hospital-approved surgical technology program.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Certification in Surgical Technology from either the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required within one year of hire date and maintained thereafter.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date and maintained thereafter.

Work Schedule

The Surgical Technologist will work a full-time schedule, with Monday-Friday hours, either 4 x 10 hour shifts or 3 x 12 hour shifts per week. Weekend call shifts are required, which may include holiday call.
