Mayo Clinic is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients during surgical procedures.
Responsibilities- Assist in the care of patients in the operating room/procedure rooms under the supervision of a RN and in collaboration with the surgeon.
- Select, prepare, and maintain instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.
- Provide a safe and efficient environment for the surgical patient.
- Apply and enforce principles of aseptic technique and adapt to unpredictable situations within the perioperative setting.
- Graduation from an accredited and/or hospital-approved surgical technology program.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- One year of clinical experience preferred.
- Certification in Surgical Technology from either the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required within one year of hire date and maintained thereafter.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date and maintained thereafter.
As a Surgical Technologist at Mayo Clinic, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will be required to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and may have on-call responsibilities in a six-week work schedule.
Compensation and BenefitsMayo Clinic offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary of $41.57 per hour, and comprehensive benefits plans to take care of you and your family.
