Principal Systems Safety Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Safety Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our Systems Engineering organization, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in system safety analysis and risk management.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement system safety plans and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct hazard analyses and risk assessments to identify potential safety risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into system design and development.
- Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, procedures, and reports.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on system safety issues.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) with 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
- Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- Experience with MIL-STD-882E and safety standards, as well as system safety engineering practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with aircraft subsystem design, test data requirements, and test methodologies used in the aerospace industry.
- Flight Line experience and knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
- Experience with hazard tracking systems and test hazard analysis for flight test activities.
- Knowledge of Air Force processes for mishap prevention, notification, investigation, and reporting.
- Competitive salary range: $107,300 - $160,900.
